Norway produces 95.6% of electricity from hydro in Dec.

- Norway produces 14.8 terawatt-hours of electricity in December

Hydropower produced 95.6 percent of Norway's electricity in December 2017, according to Statistics Norway (SSB) on Thursday.

The country produced 14.8 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity in December, out of which 13.09 TWh was consumed.

In addition to hydropower, the country produced 2.4 percent of its electricity from wind power and 2 percent from thermal power.

The largest consumption came without extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas or power-intensive manufacturing.

The Nordic country's electricity consumption increased by 7.6 percent in December 2017, compared to the same period last year.
