The oil rig count in US has declined for twelfth consecutive week, according to the latest data released by oilfield services company Baker Hughes on Saturday.
The number of oil rigs, an indicator of short-term production in the country, fell by 16 to reach 206 for the week ending June 5, from 222 the previous week.
In the past twelve weeks, the decline in US oil rig count totaled 477, according to the data.
At Friday's close, price of international benchmark Brent crude stood at $41.97 per barrel, while American benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was at $38.95 a barrel.
