Türkiye's energy import bill decreased by 17.6% to $4.26 billion in May compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Monday.
The country's energy import bill totaled $5.17 billion last May.
The data shows that the overall import bill for the month, including energy and other items, totaled $31.46 billion.
At $4.26 billion, energy accounted for 13.5% of the overall import figures in Türkiye in May.
Crude oil imports saw a 13.3% decrease to 2.48 million tons in May 2025, compared to 2.86 million tons in May 2024.
