Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 14.6% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 995,739 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,828 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,151 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,015,610 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a increase of about 14.3% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dammed hydro plants accounted for around 23.1% of total generation, while imported coal and solar contributed 21.9% and 14.5%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 21,097 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,229 megawatt-hours.
