Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 0.7% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,031,753 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,658 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,936 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,046,344 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an increase of 1.3% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 35.6% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 21.5% and 11.2%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 14,826 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 235 megawatt-hours.
