Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 1.2% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,124,672 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,447 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,993 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,131,755 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of about 1.1% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for 23% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 21.1% and 13.4%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 13,068 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 5,986 megawatt-hours.
