Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 11.3% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 769,052 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,499 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEİAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,873 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 774,839 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 10.8% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 26.3% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite contributed 20% and 13.3%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 10,771 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,984 megawatt-hours.
