Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 11.3 % on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 861,780 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,390 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,202 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 872,945 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 12.2% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 22.9% of total generation, while wind and hydroelectricity plants contributed 19.5% and 13.4%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 13,302 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,141 megawatt-hours.
