Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 14.7% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 902,541 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 44,398 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,612 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 908,509 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 15.14% increase from Sunday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 21%, while hydropower plants held a 15% share.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,958 megawatt-hours, while imports total 2,166 megawatt-hours.
