Russia confirms ongoing oil exports to India

- Russia continues oil exports as New Delhi asserts its energy policies serve national consumer interests

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said that Moscow continues to supply oil to India.

Speaking to Russia's TASS news agency, about whether oil deliveries to India were still ongoing, Rudenko said: "All shipments are continuing."

US President Donald Trump recently claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured him that India would stop purchasing Russian crude oil.

India's Ministry of External Affairs stated that while talks with the US on energy supplies were ongoing, the country's energy policies were determined in line with the interests of Indian consumers.

Following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the US imposed a 50% customs tariff on India, which had become one of the largest importers of Russian oil.
