Norway's petroleum sales decrease in January

- Country's total sales volume of petroleum products in December down 2% year-on-year to 569 million liters

Norway's total sales of petroleum products fell 2% to 569 million liters in February compared to the same month last year, according to Statistics Norway on Monday.

For gasoline sales, the statistics office said the volume decreased to 73 million liters - recording a year-on-year decline of 1 million liters.

Sales of diesel amounted to 221 million liters - a fall of 2 million liters compared to February last year.

The Norwegian Ministry of Trade, the Norwegian Petroleum Institute and oil companies provide data from which the statistics authority has produced monthly figures since 1973.
