Norway's total sales of petroleum products fell 14.8% to 501 million liters in December compared to the same month last year, according to Statistics Norway on Monday.
For gasoline sales, the statistics office said the volume decreased by 9.1% to 70 million liters.
Sales of diesel amounted to 223 million liters - a fall of 11 million liters compared to December last year.
The country's statistics authority has produced data collated from the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, the Norwegian Petroleum Institute and oil companies since 1973.
