Hydro provides virtually all of Norway's power in August

- Norway produces 10.10 terawatt-hours of electricity in August

Hydropower produced 94.2% of Norway's electricity in August, equivalent to 9.51 terawatt-hours (TWh), according to Statistics Norway (SSB) on Tuesday.

In addition to hydropower, the country produced 3.2% of its electricity from wind power and 2.6% from thermal power, according to the statistics authority.

Total electricity production of the country was 10.10 terawatt-hours in August.

The Nordic country's electricity consumption decreased by 2.9% in August, compared to the same period last year.

The extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas, and power-intensive manufacturing composed the largest share of consumption.
