Siemens Gamesa to supply wind turbines in Mexico

-Siemens Gamesa signs first contract to supply new wind turbines for Parque Amistad III and IV totaling 249 MW in Mexico

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy signed the first contract featuring SG 4.5-145 wind turbines with Enel Green Power for a wind project in Mexico, the company announced in a statement on Monday.

According to the statement, the scope of the contract includes the supply of 24 units of the new SG 4.5-145 wind turbines with a flexible power rating of 4.2 megawatts (MW) for the Parque Amistad III and 36 units for the Parque Amistad IV, located in Acuna City, in the northern State of Coahuila, Mexico, for a combined total capacity of around 249 MW.

Both the 100 MW Parque Amistad III facility and the 149 MW Parque Amistad IV were awarded to Enel Green Power during a Mexican wind auction in 2017.

Both projects includes a five-year service and maintenance contract after commissioning of the turbines, the nacelles of which will be manufactured in Spain and China while the blades and towers will be made in Mexico.

Across Mexico, Siemens Gamesa has provided more than 2.3 GW of output capacity for more than 25 project sites.
