Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom founded a new managing company, SC NovaWind, to implement its strategy for wind energy, the company recently announced.
Alexandre Korchagin was appointed as CEO of the new entity whose charter capital is 1,101 billion roubles.
According to the announcement, NovaWind’s goal is "to consolidate Rosatom’s programs in innovative technological platforms for the new energy segment."
In the initial stage, NovaWind will unite all of Rosatom's wind energy assets.
The newly appointed Director General declared in a statement that this new company represents the successful entry into the domestic and international wind energy markets.
In addition, VetroSGC, which since 2016 has been responsible for 970 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity in wind farms, is now launching the largest wind turbines’ localization program in Russia and will become a part of NovaWind.
