Brent oil valued at around $62 on Friday, Dec. 8

- Brent crude price drops to $62.49 per barrel while WTI sees $57.01 on Thursday

International benchmark Brent crude slightly increased to $62.49 compared to Thursday and the American benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) saw prices at $57.01 at 11.11 GMT on Friday.

On Thursday, Brent crude decreased to $61.25 while American benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) fell to $55.94 at 06.26 GMT.

The global oil prices were affected by rumors over divisions among the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) members who did not want to extend the oil cut decision that was taken on Thursday, Nov. 30.

Last week, OPEC and some non-OPEC oil producing countries agreed to extend their oil production cut for a further nine months to the end of 2018 to rebalance the oil market and oil glut in the sector.
