Brent oil price sustains above $64 per barrel

- International benchmark at highest level since June 2015

After Saudi's weekend purge, the price of Brent crude oil increased above $64 per barrel on Tuesday with prices on the global oil market continuing their upward trend.

International benchmark Brent crude reached as high as $64.32 per barrel at 07.27 GMT -- the highest level for the benchmark since June 2015.

American benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) reached $57.27 a barrel -- its highest level since July 2015.

After the corruption arrests of dozens of high-profile figures in Saudi Arabia, the world's biggest crude oil exporter, over the weekend, including princes and current and former ministers, led investors worrying about supply security of crude oil from the Kingdom, according to the oil industry experts.

Crude oil prices have been on the rise for the past two weeks with hopes that OPEC producers and Russia will extend their production cut agreement beyond March 2018.

Officials from Saudi Arabia and Russia signaled over the past weeks that they would support extending the deal.

OPEC will hold its semi-annual meeting on Nov. 30 in Vienna.
