Turkey's energy import bill falls 1.8% in November 2019

- Country's crude oil imports increase by 135% in November 2019 compared to same month last year

Turkey's energy import bill decreased by 1.8% to $3.39 billion in November compared to the same month of 2018, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Tuesday.

The data shows that Turkey's overall import bill, including energy and other items, totaled $17.73 billion in November, with energy accounting for 9.7% of the overall import figures.

Although the overall energy import bill fell last month, the country increased its crude oil purchases.

The country's crude oil imports showed a 135% rise over the same period compared to November 2018.

Turkey imported approximately 2.6 million tons of crude oil last month, up from 1.13 million tons during the same period of 2018.
