Turkey's energy import bill down 7.4% in February 2020

- Country's crude oil imports decrease by almost 0.7% in February 2020 compared to same month in 2019

Turkey's energy import bill decrease by 7.4% to $3.13 billion in February this year compared to the same month of 2019, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Tuesday.

The data shows that Turkey's overall import bill, including energy and other items, totaled $17.63 billion in February, with energy accounting for 17.8% of the overall import figures.

The overall energy import bill was down last month, with the country's decrease in crude oil purchases.

The country's crude oil imports showed a nearly 0.7% fall compared to February 2019.

Turkey imported approximately 2.32 million tons of crude oil last month, down from 2.34 million tons in February 2019.
