Turkey's energy import bill down 24.8% in November 2020

- Last month, overall energy imports fall with increase in country's domestic and renewable energy production

Turkey's energy import bill decreased by 24.8% to $2.53 billion in November this year compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Thursday.

The overall energy import bill fell last month with an increase in the country's domestic and renewable energy production.


The data shows that Turkey's overall import bill, including energy and other items, totaled $21.12 billion in November, with energy accounting for 11.9% of the overall import figures.


The country's crude oil imports also showed a 3.8% decrease compared to November 2019.


Turkey imported approximately 2.5 million tons of crude oil last month, down from 2.6 million tons in November 2019.
