"Greece needs to find safe ports because of this financial storm," Tsipras said at the International Economic Forum (SPIEF) held in the Russian city of St. Petersburg.
He said Russia is one of the most important partners of Greece and the crisis in Ukraine shows that there is no stability in Europe.
Tsipras asserts that financial centers of the world are changing and Russia is enlarging its global influence.
"We have to concede that we are no longer at the center of the earth," Tsipras added.
Greece’s negotiations with creditors have the priority in Europe's agenda as they have been locked in stalemate over loan deal since the middle of February.
The meeting of Eurozone finance ministers for Greece resulted in no deal, which led the leaders of the countries to meet on Monday to continue urgent bailout discussions.
