Türkiye's daily power consumption up 4.9% on March 24

- Electricity exports amount to 11,419 megawatt-hours and imports total 2,968 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 4.9% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,001,352 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,935 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 33,207 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,008,987 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of about 4% compared to the previous day.

Electricity generation from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 29.8% of total production, while imported coal and wind power plants contributed 14.5% and 11.9%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 11,419 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,968 megawatt-hours.
