Türkiye's daily power consumption up 30.6% on March 23

- Electricity exports amount to 12,229 megawatt-hours and imports total 4,008 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 30.6% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 954,568 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,006 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,352 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 962,690 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 30.1% compared to the previous day.

Electricity generation from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 30.4% of total production, while imported coal and run-of-river hydroelectric plants contributed 13.5% and 11.3%, respectively.

On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 12,229 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,008 megawatt-hours.
