Turkiye's daily power consumption up 2.6% on Jan. 11

- Electricity exports amount to 12,699 megawatt-hours and imports total 15,243 megawatt-hours

​​​​​​Turkiye's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.6% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 960,032 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,107 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,572 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 957,617 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.3% increase compared to Monday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 26.4% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.7% while wind plants comprised 16%.

On Tuesday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 12,699 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 15,243 megawatt-hours.
