Türkiye's daily power consumption up 2.1% on July 29

- Electricity exports totaled 14,417 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 8,662 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 2.7% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,236,604 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

The highest level was seen on a daily basis with this consumption.

Increased air conditioner use and agricultural irrigation, parallel to rising air temperatures across the country, contributed to the peak in electricity consumption. The previous highest level of electricity consumption was recorded on July 24 at 1,232,539 megawatt hours.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 58,481 megawatt-hours at 4 p.m. local time (1100 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 40,312 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,242,378 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of about %13.5 compared to Monday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for 31.7% of total generation, while imported coal and hydroelectric plants contributed 19.5% and 17.4%, respectively.

On Tuesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 14,417 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 8,662 megawatt-hours.
