Turkiye's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.1% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 980,221 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,496 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,821 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 977,892 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 2.1% increase compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 27.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 19.2% while wind plants comprised 16.2%.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 12,960 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 15,881 megawatt-hours.
