Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 19.5% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,080,361 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,624 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,816 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 917,994 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 18.8% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for 25.1% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 22.2% and 13.1%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 14,656 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,004 megawatt-hours.
