Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 17.2% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,073,278 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,009 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,743 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,076,416 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 17.3% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from imported natural gas accounted for 30.3% of total generation, while coal plants and solar plants contributed 22% and 12%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 5,779 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,646 megawatt-hours.
