Türkiye's daily power consumption up 1.7% on Oct. 23

- Electricity exports amount to 6,812 megawatt-hours and imports total 4,193 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 1.7% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 928,187 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,027 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,150 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 930,819 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of about 1.6% compared to Wednesday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 26.5% of total generation, while imported coal and wind plants contributed 25.7% and 12.3%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 6,812 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,193 megawatt-hours.
