Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye increased by 1.69% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 923,168 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,016 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,424 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 921,167 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.57% increase compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 22.1% of total electricity consumption, natural gas plants contributed 21.6% while imported coal plants comprised 20.9%.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 13,548 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 15,652 megawatt-hours.
