Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 16.8 % on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,006,556 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,835 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,528 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,014,641 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 16.2% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 21.9% of total generation, while natural gas and wind plants contributed 18.6% and 17.7%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 12,798 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,713 megawatt-hours.
