Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 16.21% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 977,908 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,975 megawatt-hours at 03.00 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,426 megawatt-hours at 07.00 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 968,357 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 16.33% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from wind power plants constituted 21% of total generation, while imported coal plants and natural gas plants contributed 19.3% and 17%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 8,842 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 18,393 megawatt-hours.
