Turkiye's daily electricity consumption increased by 16.2% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 935,825 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,755 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,040 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 936,331 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 16.2% increase compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 30.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21.7% while lignite plants comprised 14.5%.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 15,720 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 14,388 megawatt-hours.
