Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 15.6% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 889,242 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,777 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,333 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 893,366 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of 15.3% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from imported coal accounted for around 26.8% of total generation, while natural gas plants and lignite contributed 25.8% and 12.8%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,271 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,148 megawatt-hours.
