Türkiye's daily power consumption up 15.6% on May 5

- Electricity exports amount to 7,112 megawatt-hours and imports total 9,355 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 15.6% on Monday, compared to the previous day, totaling 858,737 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,848 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,774 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 856,508 megawatt-hours on Monday, which rose 16.8% compared to Sunday.

Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 17.3% of total generation, while natural gas plants contributed 16.5% and solar energy plants 14.3%, respectively.

On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 7,112 megawatt-hours, and imports totaled 9,355 megawatt-hours.
