Türkiye's daily power consumption up 15.5% on May 26

- Electricity exports amount to 9,004 megawatt-hours and imports total 11,714 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 15.5% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 941,763 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,314 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,350 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 939,053 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 15.5% compared to Sunday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for 18.1% of total generation, while hydroelectricity and imported coal plants contributed 17.9% and 17.4%, respectively.

On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 9,004 megawatt-hours, and imports totaled 11,714 megawatt-hours.
