Türkiye's daily power consumption up 15.4% on Feb. 23

- Electricity exports amount to 6,497 megawatt-hours and imports total 2,717 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 15.4% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 987,924 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,076 megawatt-hours at 11 a.m. local time (0800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,108 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 991,832 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 14.9% compared to Sunday.

Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 25.4% of total generation, while imported coal plants and lignite contributed 20.9% and 11%, respectively.

On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 6,497 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,717 megawatt-hours.
