Turkiye's daily power consumption up 1.5% on March 16

- Electricity exports amount to 9,500 megawatt-hours and imports total 8,678 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye increased by 1.51% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 967,632 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,094 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,357 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 968,455 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a rise of 1.54% compared to Tuesday.

Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 27.1% of total electricity consumption, while natural gas and lignite plants contributed 24.2% and 12.9%, respectively.

On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 9,500 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 8,678 megawatt-hours.
