Türkiye's daily power consumption up 14.9% on Oct. 20

- Electricity exports amount to 7,854 megawatt-hours and imports total 4,254 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 14.9% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 899,049 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,613 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,528 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 902,756 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 14.8% compared to Sunday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 32% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 25.3% and 11.8%, respectively.

On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,854 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,254 megawatt-hours.
