Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 14.9% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 882,390 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,756 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,350 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 889,327 megawatt-hours on Monday, increasing about 14.5% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 28% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 26.6% and 11.7%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,327 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 462 megawatt-hours.
