Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 14.9% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,033,627 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 51,243 megawatt-hours at 11 a.m. local time (0800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,596 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,048,885 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of 14.4% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 31.6% of total generation, while imported coal and wind plants contributed 21.2% and 11.8%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 15,595 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 337 megawatt-hours.
