Türkiye's daily power consumption up 14% on Sept. 15

- Electricity exports amount to 6,447 megawatt-hours and imports total 12,099 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 14% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,001,913 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,014 megawatt-hours at 5 p.m. local time (1400 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,050 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 996,284 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 12.8% compared to Sunday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 24% of total generation, while imported coal plants and lignite plants contributed 23.3% and 12.5%, respectively.

On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 6,447, megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 12,099 megawatt-hours.
