Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 14% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1.01 million megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,734 megawatt-hours at 03.00 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,168 megawatt-hours at 07.00 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 997,280 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 14% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 26.8% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 22% and 12.1%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 9,119 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,995 megawatt-hours.
