Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 1.4% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,017,711 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,704 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,177 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,025,445 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of 1.4% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 30.1% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 23.6% and 12%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,911 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,176 megawatt-hours.
