Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 12.5% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 876,267 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,605 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,668 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 874,772 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 12.4% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 26.1% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite plants contributed 21.7% and 13.7%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,054 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 8,554 megawatt-hours.
