Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye increased by 1.2% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,000,583 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,554 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,376 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 999,742 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.3% increase compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 32.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.2% while lignite plants comprised 13.3%.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 14,871 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 15,941 megawatt-hours.
