Turkiye's daily power consumption up 11.15% on May 16

- Electricity exports amount to 12,070 megawatt-hours and imports total 14,474 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye increased by 11.15% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 827,306 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,053 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 25,828 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 824,902 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 11.6% compared to Sunday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 21.4% of total generation, while hydro power and imported lignite plants contributed 19% and 14.9%, respectively.

On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 12,070 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 14,474 megawatt-hours.
