Türkiye's daily power consumption up 0.87% on April 18

- Electricity exports amount to 6,467 megawatt-hours and imports total 2,638 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 0.87% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 864,209 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,631 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,280 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 868,096 megawatt-hours on Thursday marking an increase of 1.16% compared to Wednesday.

Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 21.6% of total generation, while wind and imported coal plants contributed 15.8% and 14%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 6,467 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 2,638 megawatt-hours.
