Türkiye's daily power consumption up 0.4% on Dec. 18

- Electricity exports amount to 8,467 megawatt-hours and imports total 552 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased around 0.4% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,028,731 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,601 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,119 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,036,791 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of 0.35% compared to Wednesday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 32.1% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 23% and 12%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,467 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 552 megawatt-hours.
