Turkiye's daily power consumption up 0.03% on Jan. 5

- Electricity exports amount to 13,150 megawatt-hours and imports total 13,260 megawatt-hours

Turkiye's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.03% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 946,214 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,829 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,602 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 946,527 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an 0.01% increase compared to Tuesday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 24% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21.4% while wind plants comprised 17,9%.

On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 13,150 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 13,260 megawatt-hours.
